BIOGRAPHY

UK drummer and percussionist Michael Clark is best known for his versatility and precise energetic performances. Since graduating from the Royal Northern College of Music, he regularly works in a variety of contexts from National touring theatre and studio sessions to operatic and orchestral work.

Michael is currently the drummer on the Sound of Music UK & Ireland Tour. Prior to this, his recent credits include the 2019 revival production of MAME! at Hope Mill Theatre, Manchester as well as tours with numerous artists such as Travis, Andrea Bocelli, and Belle and Sebastian. He regularly performs under the direction of Robert Purvis on "A Night on Broadway" series with orchestras throughout Europe.

Aside from touring, Michael regularly performs with some of the UK's top orchestras including BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Opera and is principal percussionist with the British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. He is also a founding member of the Tartan Trio Ceilidh Band with whom he works extensively throughout the UK.

An avid supporter of music education, Michael tutors many private students as well as being Head of Percussion Studies at Holy Cross College.
